Food for Women Reference

I am hearing a lot of ladies (men too) just baffled by what to eat.  There is so much in the news and on the grocery store shelves, low-fat, fat-free, sugar-free, low sodium.  One women wrote in an email saying

It is incredibly frustrating to be in the grocery store trying to sort out the fat/salt crisis and thinking “Are those doctors crazy?”  It seems you can’t have both… it seems if companies take out fat, they add more salt; if they take out salt, they add fat – to make up for the flavor of the missing item.

Finding a balance between sugar and fat and fat and salt is very tricky! Take a look at this article from MSN titled 125 Best Packaged Foods For Women

Use this holy grail of a grocery list to toss together speedy, low-cost meals that satisfy cravings, help prevent heart disease and cancer, build muscle and bone, and help you stay on friendly terms with the bathroom scale.

This is definitely a great article to reference and get ideas for healthy food to add to your shopping list.  I love that they have marked each food with the color code so we can see the benefits that each food can provide.

Thank you Kelly for sending this my way!
