In this article there was a reference to we can! Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity & Nutrition
We Can!™ or “Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity & Nutrition” is a national program designed for families and communities to help children maintain a healthy weight. The program focuses on three important behaviors: improved food choices, increased physical activity and reduced screen time.
The section that I am thrilled to pass along to you is the idea of Energy Balanace. This seems like a simple concept, but we often forget.
The same amount of ENERGY IN and ENERGY OUT over time = weight stays the same
More IN than OUT over time = weight gain
More OUT than IN over time = weight loss
