Choices Blog

We all make choices that are NOT the best, sometimes.

Okay ladies, I am just as tempted as the rest of you!
I have been to festivals all summer, including Park Ave, that have offered Deep Fried Oreos.  As if plain Oreos are not enogh of a treat, but the thought of them deep fried has just gotten the best of me.

This weekend my family and I went to Stokoe Farms to pick pumpkins and enjoy the rest of their family activities.  Well, there they were on the menu again, Deep Fried Oreos.  I just could not help myself this time.  There was no walking away.  I went right up to the counter and placed my order, 6 cookies for $3.75.  The Oreos came out of the oil almost on fire they were so hot!  When they finally cooled off and I could taste them, they were good, not the best food I have ever eaten, but good.   The cookie loses it’s hard crunchy texture and becomes more like yummy warm chocolaty cake and the center melts to creamy frosting.  Now I would like to state for the record, I ate 1.5 cookies, NOT all 6.
Tricia making NOT the Best Choice… Deep Fried Oreos.
I think I will be able to resist them at the future festivals, I will save my calorie splurge for a new tasty treat.  If you make a “Bad Choice”  just remember it is NOT the End of the World.  Create balance and make more good choices and you will stay on track!

To make up for this increase in calorie intake I did walk the corn maze and I even did a little extra workout in the pumpkin patch.  You know overhead pumpkin press and pumpkin curls.

You never know where you can burn a few extra calories.
