There has been many stories in the news lately about pole dancing classes for fitness in the US and around the world. Expertvilliage.com has a Pole Dancing for Fitness video series by Susan Hilferty, the owner and founder of Pole Fitness Studio. This video series demonstrates the art of pole dancing for exercise and core fitness.
I have never tried pole dancing and I don’t plan to as it is not my cup of tea, but there are people out there who love it. I also had no intention of writing about this topic until I came a cross an article about Wii pole dancing. Yes, that is right I said Wii pole dancing. Now all of you loyal readers know that I am very interested in the new fitness gaming, but video game pole dancing is just too far!

The article on multiplayerblog.mtv .com said:
A few weeks ago, Peekaboo Pole Dancing, the company behind the Carmen Electra pole dancing kit (the “Electra-pole”), announcedthat they are seeking a partner to license a pole dancing game for the Wii.
Simon Kay, a rep for Peekaboo and licensing agency AT New Media told me via e-mail:
“Peekaboo will be all about fun and fitness for a new generation. Peekaboo wants to make the fitness benefits of aerobic pole dancing accessible to millions of Wii users. The goal is to encourage men and women of all shapes and sizes to improve their pole dancing skills while having fun, toning up and burning calories. Ultimately Peekaboo and AT New Media want to do for pole dancing what ‘Guitar Hero‘ did for rock n roll!”
I am not sure where video gamers will draw the line, but Training with Tricia will NOT be offering pole dancing in any variety.
