That is what I have been asking for several months as I would hear the computer down the hall making little noises ALL THE TIME! Kris, my husband, has been using twitter for a long time as he is an Interactive Marketing Guy. He explained this Twitter thing as another social media tool used to promote your business or to gather industry information. OK, but I am a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist, what can Twitter do for me? There is only one way to find out, I joined Twitter Wednesday, February 11 at 9pm - @TriciaRz.
So far Twitter has gotten me out of the house for FUN! Now you maybe asking how an online “social media thing” might get you out of the house and away from your computer. Matthew Ray (or in Twitter talk that would be @MatthewRay) put together the Rochester Twestival at the German House. I was only a 24 hour Twitter-er when I attended the Rochester Twestival. Ray put this charitable event together in just 2 weeks, using Twitter. Twestival happenings included bands (one of them was Waxmen), raffle donations (I did not win, but I tried), food, and drinks (I had water and Diet Coke). The Rochester Twestival (@RocTwestival) was a charitable event and donated all of their profits to Charity: Water.
Charity: Water is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations by funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need. For more information, visit www.charitywater.org.
This event was a lots of fun and kudos to all that put it together!

Right - Adam, my younger brother (-8yrs) & I out at the same funtion.
Twitter has also given lots of great perspective on my industry, I am following @WholeFoods, @FitnessMagazine, @ECAWorldfitness, and others. I am also finding inspiration in Rochester Happenings from following @13WHAM, @nikiblack, @MarkFrisk, @DiscoverRoch, and others.
Thank you @KrisRzepkowski for giving me Twitter lessons. Here are a few thoughts from Kris!
